Just saw 1917. Good film, not great.

Sort of a poorer British 'Saving Private Ryan' .

Spoiler alert............

Why didn't they just drop messages from a plane onto the British trenches? Mind you thant wouldn't have made much of a film.

Re: 2019 Movies
Just got back from Singapore and watched the final Star Wars with one of those golden ticket seats, which gives waitress service, leather reclinable seats which was really good but I thought the film was at best average but I'm not a particular Star wars fan.

On plane back watched The Godfather Part 1, forgotten what an absolute brilliant film this was, any of the leading actors could have got the Oscar, particularly James Caan playing the slightly hot tempered Sonny!

Watched Knives out over the weekend and agree its absolutely brilliant, doesnt take itself to seriously and you can tell they really enjoyed making it.

There are dvd quality versions of it online already for those that know where to look.

Yea, The Prestige is superb.

Watched the latest Rambo film, enjoyed it coz it's Rambo but very different to the other ones. The last 20 mins were great.

Re: 2019 Movies
I started watching it yesterday, something's eluded me? Long on how Hollywood worked (in a not very interesting way), short on plot so far?

Maybe l’ll start over

As with Memento and Inception plenty of time-bending mindfuckery going on.
Probably the most consistent director of the past 10-15 years imo.

Obviously an old film but finally got round to watching the prestige last night, was really good right up until the end, thought the cloning twist was a bit dumb.

Does The Blues Brothers count as a Musical.? If so. It wins the greatest musical of all time by a country mile.
